About the Program

The NBH Future Energy Leaders – Scholarship and Career Development Program is a flagship Bapco Energies program designed to support high-achieving Bahraini students in pursuing higher education at leading international universities.

The program aims to develop future leaders, bridge education with industry needs, and empower youth to contribute to the Kingdom of Bahrain’s national development and the global competitiveness of Bapco Energies. Through this program, Bapco Energies seeks to build a community of future-ready professionals, drive innovation, and align talent with international standards. The NBH Future Energy Leaders Program provides comprehensive support to successful applicants, covering full tuition and academic fees at leading international universities.

Who is eligible to apply?

To be considered for the NBH Future Energy Leaders – Scholarship and Career Development Program, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

Undergraduates: 

 

Must be a Bahraini national

Must be a student in Grade 11 (high school) at the time of application

Minimum cumulative GPA of 95% or equivalent

Minimum 97% in core subjects, as specified in the application portal

Intend to pursue studies in an approved university and major in the priority disciplines listed below

Demonstrate active participation in extracurricular activities

 

Postgraduates: 

 

Must be a Bahraini national

Minimum GPA of 3.0 or equivalent (First-Class or Upper Second-Class Honors)

Minimum of 3 years of professional work experience

Intend to pursue studies in an approved university and major in the priority disciplines listed below

Priority disciplines

Eligible applicants may select from a range of approved universities and majors in priority disciplines, including Engineering, Technical fields, Business, Commercial fields, IT, Data, Cybersecurity, Sustainability, Energy, Environmental Studies, Law, Governance, and Policy.

The list of approved universities and majors will be published once the application window is open on June 15, 2026.

How to apply?

You can apply by completing the following steps:

1-  Complete the online application form 

2-  Upload all required documents as specified in the application portal

3-  Application deadline: 2PM, Tuesday, June 30, 2026.

 

Final selection remains subject to the discretion of Bapco Energies.

Only online submissions will be accepted. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Application requirements

Applicants must complete the online application and submit the following documents:

Undergraduates: 

 

Official transcript for all semesters, and GPA Conversion Certificate for private school applicants

Copy of valid national ID (front and back) and passport

Passport size photo

 

Postgraduates: 

 

CV

Bachelor's degree certificate 

Official academic transcript

Three references (academic and/or professional)

Recommendation letter 

Letter of acceptance to an approved university in line with program requirements

Provide a Statement of Purpose, as specified in the application portal.

Copy of valid national ID (front and back) and passport

For Bapco Energies employees only: performance appraisal for the past 3 years, with a minimum rating of 3 required. 

Selection process

The selection process for undergraduate and postgraduate applicants is outlined below:

Undergraduates:

 

Phase 1 | Application & Academic Screening (June – July 2026): Applications are reviewed to ensure all minimum requirements are met.

 

Phase 2 | Assessment & Orientation Session (July 2026): Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an orientation session and participate in assessments evaluating their academic readiness, competencies, and overall potential. 

 

Phase 3 | Development Program (August 2026): Selected candidates will participate in a development program focused on building essential academic, professional, and personal skills through workshops and organizational activities.

 

Phase 4 | University Applications and Offers (April 2027): Candidates are required to secure conditional offers from an approved university and complete all related application requirements.

 

Phase 5 | Final Selection (June 2027): Candidates who meet all performance requirements will be selected for the scholarship subject to passing health screening.

 

Postgraduates:

 

Selection is contingent upon meeting the eligibility criteria and securing admission to an approved university in line with program requirements.
