1 Exploration
At Bapco Upstream, the Exploration function is rooted in a legacy that began with the first oil discovery in the early 1930s. This pioneering milestone laid the foundation for decades of innovation and excellence in uncovering Bahrain’s pursuit of energy excellence.
These studies have continuously evolved with technological advancements, enabling more precise and deeper exploration into the field’s reserves.
We are committed to discovering and developing new hydrocarbon resources through state-of-the-art exploration methods. Our team employs advanced techniques to perform detailed surveys, analyses, and studies that pinpoint and exploit potential oil and gas reserves.
In addition to our onshore efforts, our exploration strategy now extends offshore, where we apply cutting-edge seismic imaging to explore beneath the sea. By expanding our exploration activities to include offshore regions, we aim to further enhance our exploration capabilities and continue our contribution to the Kingdom’s prosperity.
2 Development
At Bapco Upstream, our Development function is focused on converting discovered oil and gas resources into productive assets that support long-term energy delivery. We meticulously plan, design, and implement field development projects to maximize resource recovery and ensuring the efficiency of sustained production.
Our approach integrates advanced engineering techniques and cutting-edge technology to construct and optimize well infrastructure while prioritizing safety, environmental stewardship, and cost-effectiveness in all our activities. Through these focused efforts, our commitment to deploying innovative solutions and adhering to best practices not only enhances the asset value of the Bahrain Field but also supports the Kingdom's broader goals of energy security and sustainable economic growth.
3 Drilling and Workover
At Bapco Upstream, the Drilling and Workover highlighted with function is essential for the effective and safe extraction from the field. We prioritize safety and environmental protection, implementing best practices to protect our workers, assets and the environment.
Our Drilling team excels in creating new wells with remarkable precision and efficiency, advanced technologies and adhering to the highest industry standards. Meanwhile, the Workover team concentrates on the maintenance and improvement of existing wells to ensure they at peak efficiency with comprehensive servicing.
4 Field Operations
The Field Operations Division at Bapco Upstream seamlessly integrates the management of crude oil and natural gas extraction with a strong commitment to environmental stewardship and operational excellence.
We are dedicated to achieving zero routine flaring as part of a broader effort to reduce our carbon footprint and enhance energy efficiency across all operations. We are actively enhancing water efficiencies in our extraction processes, aiming to reduce water consumption and implement industry-leading practices.
