Gas processing at scale

Bapco Gas operates state-of-the-art LPG plant facilities designed to recover marketable products such as propane, butane, and naphtha from Associated Gas sourced from Bapco Upstream oil wells and Refinery Off Gas from the Bapco Refining field. Products are shipped globally via the Sitra Wharf or delivered to Bapco Refining for further use or export.

With a total processing capacity of over 650 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD), Bapco Gas’ infrastructure includes three Central Gas Plans (CGP I, II, III), seven compressor stations, and five large-capacity storage tanks.

Bapco Gas operations began in 1980 and were significantly expanded in 2018 through the Bapco Gas Expansion Project (Tawseah). The Tawseah project introduced advanced gas treating, liquids recovery, and reinjection capabilities–enhancing both efficiency and environmental performance.
